Wood is nothing like plastic or other artificial materials. It bares the signs and marks of time passing year after year and weather changes season after season. It is just like people who age gracefully and naturally. Like each wrinkle on a person’s face speaks of experiences lived, each crack and dent on a wood piece speaks of its life-story.

What is the chance of two zebras to share the same stripe pattern? Probably nil. Nature is unpredictable and never repetitive and that’s why all natural materials are so preciously unique. Wood carries nature’s fingerprint and no two wood pieces could ever be exactly the same. Colors may be similar but shades and tones will tell them apart, knots might occur in both but one will be large and protruding, while the other will be small and barely visible, just a pin knot.

The forest is the foundation of our lives and our homes, today and in the future, and it must be treated with care.

The wood is a natural, renewable, non-toxic, recyclable and bio-degradable material. When sourced from well-managed forests, wood is the natural building material of choice.

Our mission is using this sustainable resource responsibly.

The company is committed to purchasing logs and timber products from legal sources. We recognize that the independent certification of forests and the supply chain is the most useful tool for providing assurances that wood comes from legal and sustainably managed forests. That’s why our raw material procurement is heavily biased towards the forests of county Caras-Severin in Romania, which are all certified under the FSC® certification scheme. We also have achieved Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) Chain of Custody certificate sgs-coc-008875.

Our company processes and supplies solid wood products, which are a renewable, low energy, low environmental impact alternative to other conventional house building products. The energy required to dry and manufacture our wood products comes from sawmill offcuts and wood residues, used as fuel in a biomass boiler. We also endeavor to reduce wood waste by continually striving to salvage parts of the logs previously considered unacceptable and discarded.

The nature systems™ products have been designed to purposely include and exhibit natural imperfections and irregularities which are an acknowledgement of the value of the forest resource.

All this, because we care.

Moisture naturally affects the expansion and contraction of timber. Wood is hygroscopic, meaning that it absorbs and releases water to balance out with its surrounding environment. The fresh cut wood beams are therefore kiln-dried to approx. 15% moisture content, which is suitable for indoor use. It takes 2-3 months of air-drying time and another 3 months kiln-drying to reach the moisture level needed for further processing.

A new spirit of the age is emerging. Or rather, an old one returns. We rediscover the values and craft of skilled artisans: their dedication and passion for quality and detail, and their selection of natural materials like wood, wool, or leather. We give again special meaning and preference to handcrafted objects over commodity items, mass-produced on assembly lines.

Solid wood material and traditional craftsmanship harmonize effectively into nature systems™ but there is nothing rustic either in its appearance or performance. The basic geometric form of the elements in nature systems™, pure rectangular shapes, create a sense of order and essential quality in their repetition, reminiscent of minimalist design ideas and modern aesthetics.

The authentic nature of wood with color accents, knots, cracks and splits is integrated in the design and represents sustainability, highlighting the green principles inspiring nature systems™.

“In itself, the wood is representing life and nature. Incorporating in my designs these unique values is the drive behind my work. It is my belief that if something looks like wood then it has to be wood, the real thing and not some imitation material. It should smell like wood and feel like it. It is a matter of principle: a glass of wine you take straight and a leather-sofa cannot be synthetic. nature systems™ has honesty as its core philosophy. The customer is given a piece of nature. He can almost hear the leaves rustling in the woods.”
